20 years have passed since our community came together to preserve Bernard McLaughlin’s exceptional garden and his 19th century home. Since that time we have developed signature programs like the Lilac Festival and Garden Illuminated as well as family-favorites such as the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular in October. Our mission is to “Bring natural beauty and history into people’s lives,” and we work every day to share the peace, beauty, and inspiration of this special place with our visitors.
Many of you have seen our new master plan which increases the gardens and the amenities we provide for our visitors—from more parking to bigger meeting spaces, water features and drifts of colorful flowers, new woodland paths and a discovery area for children. We honor the past and we look forward to the future! But this annual benefit auction helps us to operate today–we thank you for your support and engagement.
This year’s offerings are 12 very special experiences and treasures. There are fabulous trips, weekend get-aways, fine art, jewelry, and handcrafted items. But we’re keeping some of the treats as surprises for our silent auction—you’ll need to attend the live auction on September 9 to see and bid on those items!
Our select live auction will be accompanied by fine food, music by Jeff Christmas from the Portland Conservatory of Music, drink and company.
